United Kingdom

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, commonly called the United Kingdom, the UK, Great Britain or Britain is a country in Western Europe. It is a prominent feature on the WRC calendar, usually serving as the final rally of the year, thus deciding most WRC titles.

Two Britons have won the World Rally Championship - Colin McRae in 1995 and Richard Burns in 2001 respectively. Roger Clark became the first British driver to win a WRC event in 1976. Kris Meeke is tipped to become the fourth British winner of a WRC event.

13 British co-drivers have won an event; John Davenport (Hannu Mikkola), Fred Gallagher (Juha Kankkunen, Björn Waldegård), Nicky Grist (Colin McRae), Terry Harryman (Ari Vatanen), Henry Liddon (Timo Mäkinen), Phil Mills (Petter Solberg), John Meadows (Kenjiro Shinozuka), Michael Park (Markko Märtin), Robert Reid (Richard Burns), Derek Ringer (Colin McRae), David Richards (Ari Vatanen), Paul White (Henri Toivonen) and Neil Wilson (Hannu Mikkola).
